Penn state behrend

Penn State Behrend has been a long-standing partner in the Jim Conner Foundation and supports the Foundation by matching its scholarships dollar for dollar. This offers McDowell High School seniors one of Millcreek’s best college scholarships. The partnership has attracted and encouraged McDowell students to attend college in Erie and be active members of the Erie community. Ninety-nine percent of the Foundation’s scholars graduate college, and together with Penn State Behrend, our students have a recipe for success.

As part of one of the world’s foremost public universities, Penn State Behrend offers a recognized Penn State degree in a smaller, student-centered environment. Students pursue more than 40 bachelor’s, master’s, and associate degree programs as well as a range of minors and certificates that allow them to customize their degrees.

This includes nationally ranked engineering programs; accredited business majors, and a range of science, humanities, and social science offerings. Behrend students have the resources of a global research university, yet the student-to-faculty ratio is 15:1, offering them individual attention from accomplished faculty and unmatched hands-on learning opportunities.

Erie, PA, is developing into a technology zone with new technology companies and many startup technology companies moving into the downtown area. Penn State Behrend, and its Knowledge Park, which is home to more than 20 companies that benefit from access to the college’s student and faculty talent, is a key part of this new development. Through the college’s Open-Laboratory model of learning and discovery, Behrend students gain relevant hands-on experience working with business, industry, and community partners—while helping those partners develop solutions to challenges and take advantage of opportunities.
